FGW Customer Ambassadors show passengers to their electric car
First Great Western has teamed up with a chauffeur driven electric car provider, eConnect cars, to offer Paddington bound customers a luxury, green, travel connection at an affordable price.
Imagine an electric car taxi service that meets your train from outside the station and takes you directly to your meeting in comfort, with no emissions.
No more waiting for taxis!
First Great Western passengers can now pre-book their electric car transport to and from the station while purchasing their train tickets.
First Great Western's Integrated Transport Manager Andrew Saunders said:
“FGW is committed to reducing our impact on the environment. By providing access to renewable connecting services we can help ensure more people take the train, where they can prepare for their meeting, make use of our free on board WiFi service or just enjoy the English countryside rolling by, before being picked up in a chauffeur driven zero emission car."
By choosing to travel with eConnect cars rather than a black cab or other taxi service you can help stop high levels of tail pipe emissions such as CO2, NOx and particulate matter being pumped into our atmosphere and lungs.
eConnect cars is excited to announce this new strategic partnership. Alistair Clarke, owner and MD of eConnect cars, said:
“It gives us great pleasure to announce this partnership with First Great Western. This is the first time a train operator has partnered with an electric vehicle operator in London to create a transport solution that truly represents smarter, greener travel for those coming to and from London. Passengers can now choose to travel their first or last mile responsibly in a chauffeur-driven zero emission car.”
Over the last year eConnect cars has become one of London’s foremost providers of chauffeur-driven business class travel. During that time the excellence of the eConnect cars service, drivers and a devotion to environmental impacts have been celebrated by three major national awards.
In keeping with the eConnect cars’ philosophy of providing an all-electric car service as part of an integrated transport solution, First Great Western’s passengers will be able to book either the top of the range Nissan Leaf Tekna or Tesla Model S. Both vehicles are zero emissions and all-electric.
