First launches special Royal Norfolk Show service

12 Jun 2014

Visitors to this year’s Royal Norfolk Show will be able to benefit from reduced entry and travel thanks to First Eastern Counties.

The local bus operator has launched a number of combined ticket options which will see people visit the show and save money on travel at the same time. A special 100 service will run on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26 and to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Routemaster this year, the iconic red bus will be running on the service over the two days.

Hugo Forster, General Manager for First Eastern Counties, said: “We are delighted to have worked in conjunction with the Royal Norfolk Show to offer people the best value tickets for travel and entry.

“The combined ticket options provide great value for money as well as helping people to beat the traffic and not worry about finding a space to park. We hope everyone enjoys this year’s show and as many people as possible manage to ride on the Routemaster.”

Vicki Blake, events and show manager, said: “The First Eastern Counties Royal Norfolk Show bus service is a great way of getting to the region’s most anticipated annual event, and we wholeheartedly encourage the use of public transport to get the Showground as it’s a cost effective and more environmentally friendly way to travel. Working with First Eastern Counties ensures the Royal Norfolk Show is accessible to as many people as possible and we encourage everyone to visit this year’s event and to make it your Royal Norfolk Show.”

Services will run from 8am until 7.10pm from Norwich Rail Station to the Norfolk Showground via St Stephens Street. Buses will leave the train station every 30 minutes and St Stephens Street every 15 minutes. Return services will run twice an hour from 8.45am to 7.45pm.
