First Essex Managing Director, Adrian Jones, will swap buses for bikes this summer when he takes part in the London to Brighton bike ride.
The annual event, which is held in support of the British Heart Foundation, will take place on Sunday, June 15.
The 52-year-old, along with a group of friends and his son, Daniel, 26, will cycle the 54-mile route from Clapham Common to Marine Parade.
Adrian said: “A friend of mine said he was going to do it so I thought I would join him. I like doing different challenges and I am a huge supporter of the British Heart Foundation.
“I’m really looking forward to the day. I have been training during the week and going for longer bike rides at the weekend.”
But Adrian is no stranger to challenges; in 2013, he took part in the London Marathon and together with a colleague managed to raise more than £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
He hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for charity by taking part in the ride.
