Bus operator First Essex has donated travel tickets to help young people on low income who are looking for employment.
The firm has donated 40 scratchcards to Brentwood Foyer, an organisation which provides support for young people who are seeking employment and housing.
Cards are valid for the whole day and passengers can benefit from unlimited trips on First services in Essex.
Customers scratch off the day, week, month and year they wish to use the ticket, then show it to the driver whenever they board throughout that day.
Olive Flanagan, Support Coordinator at Brentwood Foyer, said: “Young people often struggle with travel costs, resulting in them missing important appointments such as hospital visits and job interviews, so any help they can access is extremely beneficial.
“We’re delighted to be involved in this initiative which is particularly useful for young people seeking employment and housing.”
Danny Jones, General Manager for First in South Essex, said: “We are always happy to support local organisations such as the Brentwood Foyer, which carries out remarkable work in the region.”
