CINCINNATI — First Student President Linda Burtwistle is being recognized by the National Diversity Council with its 2013 Ohio Glass Ceiling Award. The award honors women in leadership positions who have not only achieved personal and professional success, but are making it possible for others to follow in their footsteps.
As President of First Student, Burtwistle oversees the safe and secure operation of more than 54,000 yellow school buses across North America. She is also responsible for growth and development of First Student’s 1,400 contracts, working with school boards and district leadership to ensure safe, reliable transportation provided in a cost-effective manner.
“I am pleased to accept this honor from the National Diversity Council,” said Burtwistle. “At First Student, we recognize the importance of creating an environment of inclusion where employees are valued for their talents, and empowered to reach their full potential.”
Burtwistle will be recognized during the 2013 Ohio Women’s Conference Award Luncheon on May 30th at the University of Cincinnati.
