Following the clocks going back on the 27th October, First Aberdeen customers had an extra hour in bed, now they could also enjoy an extra day’s travel, free.
First Aberdeen has launched a promotion which will allow customers the opportunity of receiving a free day’s travel when they trade in their adult ‘FirstDay’ ticket for an adult ‘FirstWeek’ ticket. This will give customers eight days travel for the price of seven, for £18. The promotion runs from 28 October until 24 November 2013. Customers can exchange their tickets on board the bus.
First Aberdeen’s Marketing Manager, Paula Middleton, ‘dreamt’ up the latest fares initiative from the King Street based bus company. She said: “We were all looking forward to the extra hour in bed when the clocks went back. I hope our customers will take advantage of our promotion and enjoy the extra day’s travel on our buses.”
She continued: “We are working hard at First Aberdeen to give our customers the opportunity to access better value fares. We recently reduced the cost of the First Family Weekend ticket by 25% and are currently running our ‘Travel Trio’ promotions on Services 11 and 20, which offer really good discounts on return fares.”
“We want to encourage more people on to our buses and we recognise that providing good value fares will help us increase passenger numbers.”
First’s positive changes to some of its fares are part of a range of actions that First Aberdeen has been progressing to improve bus travel for its customers:
· First has invested £3.5million in 23 brand new buses this year. The new vehicles, which are fitted with leather seats and complementary wi-fi, entered service on July 1.
· First Aberdeen’s punctuality and reliability performance has never been better with 95% of all services leaving their terminus on time.
· The company is in the middle of a fleet refresh programme which will improve the exterior and interiors of many of its buses.
· In its most recent fares review (March 2013) First held in price or reduced the majority of its ticket types.
· First has launched a ‘Customer Promise’ whereby passengers can claim a free travel voucher if they are unhappy with any aspect of the service (within First’s control).
· First Aberdeen has secured the services of eight regular customers to form a Customer Panel to provide mystery shopper evaluations on its bus services.
