First Bus Supports 'Scotland's Towns Week'

21 Nov 2013

First Bus in Scotland revealed today that it is supporting Scotland’s Towns Week, a national campaign organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership that aims to help revitalise the country’s towns.

The campaign, which is running from 18-22 November, culminates in the annual Scotland’s Towns Conference tomorrow (22 November) in Inverness.  Ahead of that flagship event, First has confirmed that it has donated advertising space on buses across its three operating areas to help raise awareness of the campaign.

Around 450 First Aberdeen, First Glasgow and First Scotland East buses operating in towns and cities such as Aberdeen, Falkirk, Livingston, Stirling, Galashiels, Hamilton, Clydebank and Wishaw,  currently feature Scotland’s Towns Week posters.  In addition each company’s website highlights the campaign.

Paula Middleton, First’s Regional Marketing Manager, said: “In the UK people using the bus to make shopping and leisure trips in our town and city centres spend some £21.5billion a year.  Bus services are absolutely critical to the futures of the high street and our town centres.  Therefore we are very pleased to help raise awareness of the Scotland’s Towns Week.”
