School districts across the country are showing their appreciation throughout January for school board members by observing School Board Recognition Month. First Student, Inc., the largest provider of school transportation in North America, joins the National School Boards Association (NSBA) in honoring school board members for their commitment to education.
“We have the pleasure of working with many school board members and administrators,” said Linda Burtwistle, president of First Student. “We support the recognition of their hard work and dedication. We see their commitment to serving their communities and helping students achieve the highest levels of education.”
According to the NSBA, there are more than 90,000 local school board members in the United States. School Board Recognition Month was created to recognize the contributions board members make to their communities and the public education system.
