Leon Daniels, Customer Service and Communications Director, UK Bus has been appointed Managing Director of Surface Transport at Transport for London (TfL).
Commenting Giles Fearnley, Managing Director of First UK Bus, said:
“As a longstanding member of our UK Bus management team Leon has made a significant contribution to the successful development of the business. He has held a number of senior roles within the UK Bus division and led the team which was awarded the contract to provide direct coaches, park and ride services and venue shuttle services for spectators to the London 2012 Games. I have no doubt that his experience will be of great benefit to TfL in continuing to deliver high quality transport services in London.
“Although we are sorry to see him go, we are delighted that someone of Leon’s calibre and experience will be leading Transport for London’s Surface Transport team. He leaves with our good wishes for the future.”
Commenting, Leon Daniels said:
“I am delighted to be appointed Surface Transport Director at TfL and look forward to building on ever-improving transport services and preparing to meet the challenges of the London 2012 Games. My decision to leave First at this time, under the exciting new leadership of Tim O'Toole as Chief Executive and Giles Fearnley as Managing Director UK Bus, has been a very difficult one. Having spent over a third of my career at First I gratefully take with me all I have learned. It has been a privilege to have been part of First for so long and I know that I am leaving one outstanding team for another.”
