First Transit and First Vehicle Services Managers Awarded for Performance at Regional Conferences

Employees discussed future of company and its goals for 2011.

At First Transit and First Vehicle Services’ regional conferences this year, three First Transit general managers were awarded the President’s Award for their work and accomplishments within the organization. The award is presented to general managers or directors recognizing their excellent performance, outstanding leadership and dedicated service to First Transit. 

PRESIDENT’S AWARD RECEIPIENTS

Mike Bozarth (West Region)

• Currently, Mike is a District Manager at our TriMet location in Beaverton, Ore. He started his transit career in April of 2001. Mike has managed, at different times, locations in California and Oregon for the past nine years.

Paul Buharin (Central Region)

• Paul Buharin has more than 28 years of experience in transportation with experience in fixed route, paratransit, shuttle and school bus operations. Paul came to First Group through the acquisition of Laidlaw where he served as Project Manager and Region Operations Manager. Paul is currently the general manager for three First Transit locations in the Minneapolis area including the transit services for the University of Minnesota.

Scott Conroy (East Region)

• Scott Conroy is the Director of Operations for First Transit’s East Region Shuttle Division with responsibility for transit operations at 16 airport and university locations. Scott joined First Transit following the acquisition of Cognisa Transportation in January of 2007. With more than 20 years of experience in contract management for public and private institutions, Scott has developed a team, which brings together talented transit specialists to meet the unique needs of academic institutions.
