From April 2016, the new franchise will transform TransPennine Express into a vibrant and modern intercity rail operator for the North of England and Scotland. There’ll be more services, more seats and new state-of-the-art intercity trains.

More than £500m of investment will be delivered to improve the franchise. FirstGroup will also manage some of the region’s busiest railway stations, delivering an £18m investment to further modernise these transport hubs.
